Fine Art School Photography offers a great alternative to traditional school photos with a more modern and authentic approach. I deliver natural school portraits that focus on each child’s personality while also providing schools and families with a simple and personalized photography experience.
Unlike large, corporate photography companies, my school photos are not about forcing a stiff smile, but instead about capturing a child’s personality. I create a simple, relaxed experience that results in timeless portraits of each child. I will never force a child to pose in an unnatural or forced way. Instead, I take a moment to connect with each child, which allows for me to capture an authentic portrait. The school photography experience I provide results in a better experience for both schools and families.

How Does Fine Art School Photography Work?
My process for school photography is streamlined to make the whole experience smooth and enjoyable for both the school and families from first contact to print delivery.
Before picture day, I talk with school staff to confirm timelines, locations, and expectations. A detailed document describing all ordering procedures and photo day preparation will be provided to the school to be distributed to families before picture day so families feel prepared for school photo day.
On picture day, each child is photographed at the prearranged location against a black background or outside, depending on what the school requests. I spend 1-2 moments with each child and capture a minimum of 2-5 images. I do not force the kids into one pose, but rather capture authentic, natural portraits.
About three weeks after school pictures, families are sent a link to a private, online ordering gallery that is organized however the school prefers (by classroom/grade/etc). I will provide 2-5 images for each child in both color and black and white. The family can choose which photos they would like to purchase and/or printed. Families can also choose to purchase photo packages or digital images. There is no minimum purchase requirement for families.
Prints are ordered straight from the online gallery and are delivered to the school within 4 weeks of photo day. I can also provide the digital files for yearbooks, websites, IDs, etc.
I also provide my contact information so families can reach out to me directly with questions.
I provide all equipment and handle any questions from parents and families about ordering and products.
What is Your Pricing?
My pricing is competitive and affordable. There is no up front cost to the school or families. If a family chooses to purchase digital images, prints, packages, etc, they will pay through the online gallery. Sample pricing can be found here.
What Time of Year Do You Book Schools?
I offer this service year-round. Schools can coordinate a time that works best with their schedule.
Do You Provide Class Photos?
Yes, class photos are provided based on the school’s needs. I will either take class photos on the same day as school photos or arrange them at a different time.
