It’s time for the second installment of the best locations for family photos near Pittsburgh. Your session location is one of the main aspects that has a major impact on the feel of your photos. For example, photos a field are going to have a very different feel than in an urban area. As a family photographer in the Pittsburgh area, part of my job is to find the best locations for my clients. If you want your family session outside and to have varied landscapes, such as open fields, tall grass, and wooded areas, this location is for you. Why Sewickley Heights Borough Park is a Perfect Location for your Family Photos

Sewickley Heights Borough Park is a great location for your family photos for several reasons. It consists of over 1,000 acres of land that encompasses fields and wooded areas. My favorite area to take my clients is Tortilla Flats, which is just a 5-minute walk from the parking lot. Tortilla flats is a large open field that’s surrounded by trees. You will see lots of off-leash dogs running in the area, as it’s permitted. There’s also a hill off of the flats with long grass that I love using, and the woods surrounding the field provide an additional location with varied landscape for sessions. Sewickley Heights Borough Park is large, with many beautiful areas for photo sessions. Because of this, even the busiest nights won’t feel crowded at this park.

There is nothing more gorgeous than a late summer or fall family session during golden hour at Sewickley Heights Borough Park. The sun sets just over the tree line and makes for some very magical photos.

How to Prepare for Your Family Session at Sewickley Heights

My sessions are super relaxed. I don't expect you or your kids to stand still or behave the whole time. We focus on interaction. I guide you through the whole session, tell you what to do, and if your kids are running around and not cooperating, I promise you, you will receive beautiful photos that tell the story of your family exactly how it is. With that being said, you don't need much to prepare for your family photos at Sewickley Heights Borough Park.

After you book your session, I send you a link to the private client area on my website that gives you wardrobe advice, location advice if we haven't picked the location yet, and every little detail you would need to feel prepared going into your session. And if you have additional questions, I am always available to contact through email.

But truly, you just need to get dressed and be yourself at the session. I will take care of everything else.
