Spring in Pittsburgh! It's simply the best to see the bright green leaves on the trees, yellow daffodils, and colorful tulips and blooms. It gives me so much hope after the months of gray, cold, Pittsburgh winter weather. And Spring Family Photos are the perfect way to celebrate a new season. As a Pittsburgh family photographer, I know all of the benefits of getting your family photos done in each season. Each season has its own advantages, and Spring is one of my favorite times to get your family photos done! Read below to find out why I love it.

Less Crowds
One of the reasons Spring is a great time for your family photos is because it is less crowded. Fall is by far the most popular season to get family photos done, and so many locations will have other people/families during peak shooting hour (golden hour). But, it is far less crowded in the Spring time! This makes any location possible.

An Earlier Golden Hour for Spring Family Photos in Pittsburgh
This is especially true in early Spring. Golden hour, or the hour before sunset and the time of day that is the best for outdoor photography, is earlier in the day than in the summer or even early fall. This is especially important if you have young children. In Spring, you won't have to worry about keeping your kids up past their bedtime for your family photos!

Mild Weather
The weather is very dependent on the year, but typically the Spring weather is mild in Pittsburgh, which makes your family photos a much more comfortable experience! You don't have to worry about being too hot or cold.

Your Family Photos Will Be Done Early in the Year
Another reason to get your photos in Spring is that it will be DONE with early in the year! You won't have to think about it for the rest of the year (until you need to schedule to next session, of course!) Sometimes I think there's a stressful element to Fall family photos. It's right around the holidays, and then you need to make Christmas cards right after. There's so much going on. But Spring photos mean you have time to relax before the holiday rush.

Honestly, there is no "bad" season to get your family photos done, but each season has its pros and cons. You just have to figure out what works best for your family! Spring is one of my favorite times to get Pittsburgh family photos. What about you - when is your favorite time to get your photos?
